London Mayor Sadiq Khan Still Aims to Bring WrestleMania to London
London Mayor Sadiq Khan remains committed to making London the first international destination for WrestleMania. Khan met with WWE Hall of Famer Triple H and WWE President Nick Khan last year to discuss this possibility. Khan expressed his determination to cement London’s reputation as the sports capital of the world.
In a recent report, Khan reiterated his dedication to bringing major sporting events to London, including WrestleMania. He also expressed interest in bidding for the Olympics and Paralympics to return to London in 2040. The Mayor highlighted the economic and cultural benefits of hosting such events in the city.
WrestleMania 41 recently took place in Las Vegas, with WWE considering a return in the next 3-5 years. WrestleMania 42 is confirmed for New Orleans, making WrestleMania 43 the earliest possible event for London. The economic impact of WrestleMania on host cities has been significant, with WrestleMania 41 being the most successful event in WWE history. Philadelphia generated $215 million from hosting WrestleMania 39.
As of now, London’s bid for WrestleMania remains a possibility for future events.
